Domestic violence is a complex form of abuse. One aspect of the Memorium project is to work on intimate homicides. Contrary to public perception that people are at greater risk of being sexually abused or killed by a stranger, such harm is more likely from someone in a close relationship such as friends and family members. Intimate partner homicides account for one-fifth of all homicides in Australia. Of these, four out of five involve a man killing his female partner.
